We are fortunate in Nairn Academy to be able to offer ECDL to pupils from S4-S6. ECDL is an internationally recognised qualification which assists students in developing confidence and competence in a range of computing and ICT related tasks.

There are 3 options available:

ECDL Essentials:

Module 1 - Concepts of Information Technology

Module 2 - Using a Computer and Managing Files

Module 7 -Information & Communications

ECDL Extra:

Module 3 - Word Processing

Module 4 - Spreadsheets

Module 5 - Databases

Module 6 - Presentations

ECDL

The complete ECDL qualification is awarded when all 7 modules have been completed and verified by the British Computer Society (BCS)

The students complete the course in a 'self-study' format with teacher supervision. Once the student and teacher are happy that all materials in a Module have been reviewed the student is then tested using one of many 'mock' assessments. When the student passes the 'mock' assessment they are assigned a test date.

The minimum pass rate for all modules is 75% (this is subject to change).
